Work Work Work

I spent a weekend in Washington State visiting The DigiPen Institute of Technology. Call me old fashioned but I really like the idea of going to school and learning vs gathering all my knowledge from the internet. Don't get me wrong the internet has given me a lot of important informationand taught me many things but the ability to work with my peers face to face and to network with all the talent, to be a part of something.... the creative process. Its all so exciting.

Tthe school ws amazing. From the moment I entered the building and was greeted by the admissions advisor person lady I felt comfortable and happy to be there. The courses seem very practical and the products these students are turning out are amazing. Alll four years are focused working on skills you will use in the field. Everything is applied to the career.

I want to succeed out there. I want my vision to be what you see on your screen when you are watching an animated video or playing the latest xbox hit. The hours will be long and I know I have a lot to learn but DigiPen feels like the right place to do all this.

I just enrolled in two art classes, one on Tuesdays and one on Thursdays. The goal is to get back into shape Rocky style, really push my fundamentals and get some more work together for my portfolio that is due in February.

I may post progress on my work here depending on how well this all goes.

And here is my final piece for the freelancer contest
It was frustrating for a little while but I guess it didn't turn out too bad.

Roosterteeth Freeelancer contest

I am currently in the process of putting together a piece for a contest put out by roosterteeth. The project is due by the 29th and I have been putting off doing it for a million reasons but tonight (after a few hours of Borderlands 2 and the Chinese buffet) I got this together.
Most of my history with roosterteeth is anchored in the original Red vs Blue Blood Gulch Chronicles and Tex was the baddest of the bad. Of course it was just recently revealed that she is Beta, which makes sense... but yeah I have some fun ideas with how I am going to color her "skin."

I am excited to see what she does here in the end of the current season. It should be epic... and I am going to assume that she is really, really pissed.

My turn with Zrii

Its time to see what change I can make in the way I eat and take care of my body. There has been a lot of fast food and soda since I have been home and the results of such a diet are depressing. I have felt tired and bloated and sick for a long time.

So I decided to jump in all the way. I have a little bit of every product Zrii has to offer and for one month I am going to do my best to stick to a plan of eating health and getting better exercise.

Today is the time to change and I am going to share my progress here on my blog.

Today I weighed in at 208 lbs. Not a horrible weight  but I would like to see what a healthy me would weigh and feel like. I imagine it will be much more better ;-)

Musical inspiration

Inspiration is hard. Coming off a Daft Punk spree I am looknig for new music to help me flow through the creation proccess.

I have added these 3 songs and more to my current playlist:
Help I'm Alive by Metric
Earthquake by Labrinth featuring Tinie Tempah
T.H.E.(The Hardest Ever) by Will.I.Am

Scott Pilgrim VS the World has a great song by Metric titled Black Sheep. Of course the film version isn't the same as the true Metric version but they are both great songs.

Metric has a lot of good stuff. Check them out.

Organization

We are going to be spending some time organizing our blogs. This blog will be the main blog and the other will be where we will be posting anything related to our photography. Expect more art to pop up as well. I have been doing a lot of little things with my time in bahrain.
